In an era shaped by pervasive digital technologies, virtual worlds are redefining how identity and aesthetics are formed. Within the metaverse, individuals inhabit a second self—one that can hide, disguise, or be rewritten. This creates a new “cyber skin” that both protects and regulates, blurring the boundary between the real and the virtual.
Grounded in cyborg theory, this project extracts digital symbols—avatar mimicry, data fragments, pixel traces, and glitch imagery—to build an appearance suspended between presence and concealment. Drawing from the blur and distortion of virtual space, the work reflects identity anxiety and self-protection in everyday life, exploring how individuals maintain difference and expression within an increasingly standardized digital world.
