Guangzhou became a frontier for Sino-Western cultural exchange, forming a multicultural and international community where Western culture integrated into the city. Over time, trends like "the west wind blowing east" were quietly internalized. Through contact with foreign merchants, Guangzhou artists absorbed many Western elements, which gradually permeated the design of Cantonese crafts, bridging Sino-Western cultural symbols and creating new cultural meanings as shared visual elements.
